Calculating trade plate fees
Step 1: Find the category fee for your chosen category from table one and multiply by the number of years required - one, two or three years.
Step 2: Find out your premium class:
- Go to the motor trade plate section of the compulsory third party insurance premium schedule (PDF 2.5Mb).
- Choose your category from the list and find the appropriate insurance rating district - district one or district two, with or without ITC entitlement.
- Go to your premium class and multiply the amount by the number of years required.
Step 3: If it's applicable, add the approval fee from table two.
Step 4: Add the applicable administration fee and plate fee from table three below.
Step 5: Add all the fees from step one through to step five to calculate your total fee.
The fees below are effective from 1 July 2011.
